How we work
Working with Towemer Wealth.
Getting started is simple. Here is how it works, from your first conversation to your first investment, and what it costs.
Getting started.
- One
Get in touch
Call, email or send us a message. We will talk about what you would like your money to do and what you already hold. No preparation needed, and no obligation.
- Two
Meet your adviser
Your adviser gets to know your goals, when you will need the money and how much risk you are comfortable with, before recommending anything.
- Three
Open an account
Register online in a few minutes. We verify your identity, usually within 24 to 48 hours, and email you as soon as your account is open.
- Four
Start investing
Tell your adviser what you would like to invest, or choose from the Offerings page in your account. Your adviser takes care of the application and the paperwork, and confirms the details with you in writing before anything is placed. A reply saying “I confirm” is all it takes.
What you get.
Your own adviser
One person who knows you and your portfolio, by phone, email or message, whichever you prefer. When they are away, another adviser at the firm looks after you.
Today's rates, every morning
Offerings, in your account, shows the strongest published cash and term deposit rates for your amount, alongside the firm's bonds and managed funds, updated each morning.
One account, in your name
Everything you hold in one place, with your income and maturity dates in one view, and your documents and statements beside them.
Every placement in writing
Before anything is placed, the amount, the terms and the settlement date are confirmed with you in writing, and you receive a confirmation of each placement afterwards.
Your adviser will explain what you need to open an account in your first conversation.
Fees.
Every fee charged to you is agreed in writing before any work begins. Nothing is taken from your money without your authority.
There are two ways to work with us. With investment selection, you choose what to invest in and when, and your adviser arranges it. Cash accounts, term deposits and managed funds carry no fee from us. With wealth management, your adviser gives full advice and manages your whole portfolio on an ongoing basis. Retirement and superannuation advice, and insurance advice, are charged separately.
Investment selection
You decide what to place and when, and your adviser arranges it. There is no advice fee, no ongoing service fee and no annual charge on the value of what you hold.
- 0.15%on purchase Of the value of each purchase, charged at the time it is made, and never on a cash account, a term deposit or a managed fund. Initial public offerings are charged differently, on the gain rather than on the amount invested. See below.
- 0.15%on disposal Of the value of each disposal, charged at the time it is made, and never on a cash account, a term deposit or a managed fund. Nothing is charged for holding.
Initial public offerings
Charged on the gain, and only on the gain. If an investment does not make one, there is no fee on it. Nothing is charged for taking part in an offer and nothing is charged for holding what you are allocated.
- 2%of the gain Of the gain realised when you sell. Calculated on the gain, not on the amount invested and not on the value of what you hold.
- 1%of the gain Where the investment is $500,000 or more. The lower rate applies to the whole of that investment.
Wealth management
Full advice and ongoing management of the portfolio as one position. Charged each year as a percentage of its total value. Each rate below applies to the part of the portfolio that falls within that band, not to the whole of it.
- 0.50%a year On the first $250,000 of portfolio value.
- 0.40%a year On the part between $250,000 and $1,000,000.
- 0.30%a year On the part between $1,000,000 and $3,000,000.
- 0.25%a year On the part above $3,000,000.
Retirement and superannuation advice
Advice on superannuation, including a self managed superannuation fund, and on drawing an income in retirement. Banded on the same basis as above.
- 0.60%a year On the first $250,000.
- 0.40%a year On the part between $250,000 and $3,000,000.
- 0.30%a year On the part above $3,000,000.
Insurance advice
- Agreedbefore work begins A flat fee agreed with you in writing before the work starts, or an advice fee per policy, whichever suits the piece of work. It is never a percentage of the sum insured or of the premium, and it is not paid by the insurer. Where an insurer would pay a commission, it is rebated to you in full or used to reduce your premium.
All rates above include GST. Fees are shown in Australian dollars.
A fund's management fee is part of the fund, not a fee from us, and Towemer receives no payment from any bank, fund manager or bond issuer for placing your money. Our Financial Services Guide sets out the full schedule, a worked example, and when each fee is due.
Talk to an adviser.
Tell us what you would like your money to do, and an adviser will take you through your options. There is no obligation.
